Blumenthal's, on Greensboro's South Elm Street, wasn't just a store. It was an institution.

In a world where the pace of change is ever-increasing, generations of customers looked forward to returning to a place that was always just like they remembered it.

Now, after nearly 80 years, Blumenthal's downtown store is just a memory.
