B-17 'Liberty Belle' is a flying memorial to the U.S. airmen who served in World War II. This Flying Fortress, produced in May 1945, is one of a surviving handful of the nearly 13,000 manufactured by Boeing.

Owned by The Liberty Foundation Inc., the aircraft visited Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem, N.C., in August 2009.
